    • Horticulture knowledgeable volunteers and research volunteers
  • Dyckman Farmhouse Museum

    • Docents needed: Tuesday, Wednesday, weekends or special events. Training will be provided.
    • Researchers, Marketing People, Photo Database Organizer
  • Kingsland Homestead-Queens Historical Society
    • Give tours to the public and help out with special events.
      • Every Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday from 2:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m. and for special events. Traning will be provided
    • Present tours of the historical building to drop-in visitors.
    • Work with families and children on hands-on historical events
  • Merchant’s House Museum
    • Help as tour guides, weekend docents, or at the admissions desk (training provided)
    • Help organize and run education programs and special events
    • Help behind-the-scenes with mailings, maintenance, research, and more
  • Old Stone House Brooklyn
    • Updating social networking sites (Facebook, Twitter, OSH events), Gardening at OSH, Volunteers for events (crafts, face painting, crowd control), Volunteers for OSH Outdoor July Programming.
  • Queens County Farm Museum
    • Individuals ages 18 & older are invited to work alongside our farmers in the growing fields on a weekly basis from Spring–Fall on Tuesdays & Sundays, 10 am–4 pm. For information about other opportunities on the farm for groups, email info@queensfarm.org. Please note, volunteer activities do not include work with our livestock.
    • There is no need to sign-up or apply. You may drop-in for an hour or stay for the whole day. First-time volunteers, stop by our Welcome Center and a staff member will point you in the right direction.
    • Prepare to get dirty! Tasks are often physically strenuous, so wear proper outdoor work attire (hat, sunglasses, layers, rain gear, gloves, closed-toed shoes, etc.) and pack a water bottle. We invite all volunteers to join us for lunch (we provide farm salad whenever possible!).
    • NOTE: We cannot accommodate groups on Volunteer Days at this time.
