The Historic House Trust of New York City (HHT), in partnership with the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation (NYC Parks), advocates for, promotes, and provides expertise to preserve 23 publicly owned historic sites in New York City. Explore our work below and please consider a financial contribution to advance our significant mission.

Partner with Parks

HHT’s member sites are located on city parkland, so our partnership with the NYC Parks is central to our operations. From managing major restoration projects to coordinating daily maintenance needs, HHT and NYC Parks are crucial in ensuring that these important places survive for future generations.

Serve Our Sites

Beyond caring for the physical structures, HHT provides essential support to the non-profit organizations that operate the museums within these historic structures. This work shifts with the changing needs of the sites, but is designed to assist them in accomplishing their missions.

Engage the Community

We believe that fostering community engagement with these historic house museums is the best way to ensure their long-term preservation. From public programs to marketing initiatives, HHT strives to find new and innovative ways to promote our partner sites to the public.
