King Manor Museum

Every Monday-Wednesday (mid-day hours) and or weekends for special events. Training will be provided. Contact Miriam Musco by email mmusco@kingmanor.org  or call 718-206-0545 x.11

  • Give tours to the public and help out with special events.
  • Present tours of the historical building to drop-in visitors.
  • Work with families and children on hands-on historical activities.

Queens County Farm Museum 

Every Tuesday and Sunday April – October, between 10am and 4pm, QCFM hosts regular volunteer days. Individual volunteers can simply show up on these days, between these hours, and assist farmers with various tasks. Volunteers can stay the whole day, or just a few hours.

  • All volunteers must be 16 and older.
  • Volunteers should wear clothes they don’t mind getting dirty, and bring a lunch and insect repellent if planning on staying most of the day.
  • There is no need to sign up or apply before volunteering.
  • First time volunteers, should stop by the welcome center (first building on your left as you enter), and an employee there will point you in the right direction.
  • Groups must schedule volunteer days in advance.

Bartow-Pell Mansion Museum

  • Regular garden volunteers, Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays, 9:30–12:00
  • Gift shop buyer/manager
  • Data entry
  • Product designer
  • Photo database organizer

Old Stone House

  • Updating social networking sites (Facebook, Twitter, OSH events)
  • Gardening at OSH
  • Volunteers for events (crafts, face painting, crowd control)
  • Volunteers for OSH Outdoor July Programming
